Tytan foam is canned polyurethane foam for sealing gaps around windows and doors, bonding subfloors and spraying insulation into hard-to-reach spots. Tytan develops it with professional contractors and builds it for them. The foam and the gun work as one system: Thermospray fills voids with no joints and no thermal bridges, and the Pro Applicator sets bead size with your gloves on.
Tytan Professional is part of the Selena Group, a holding of companies built on Polish capital that make and distribute construction chemicals. The group has been making products since 1992, and its parent company, Selena FM S.A. of Wrocław, entered the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange on 18 April 2008. In the US, Selena USA Inc. is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. The group’s range covers foams, sealants, adhesives, waterproofing, insulation systems and fasteners.
Thermospray for walls, attics and outbuildings
Thermospray is spray insulation in a can: a single-component polyurethane foam you run through a Tytan gun. It’s made for internal and external partition walls, attics, metal garages, sheds and hard-to-reach spots where you’d otherwise bring in a two-component rig, and it can repair or replace a two-component job. Tytan pitches it as an alternative to polystyrene board, glass wool and rock wool, and it insulates for both heat and sound. The easy-to-attach nozzle puts foam into the gaps and voids that board stock leaves behind on a ribbed metal wall. For small renovation jobs and quick fixes, it saves calling in a crew.
Thermospray is self-adhesive and goes on without fasteners, so it holds on uneven and hard-to-reach surfaces with no screws, pins or furring strips. The prep that matters is a clean surface at the right temperature: blow off the dust and wipe oil off metal before you spray. It also insulates cable and pipe ducts, tanks, basins and gullies.
Figure coverage in board feet, one square foot at one inch thick. At 21 board feet a can, 100 square feet of wall at two inches takes 10 cans. Build thickness in layers. The directions call for moistening the cured first layer before spraying the second, so keep a spray bottle of water with the cans. The foam has a noticeable odor while it cures, so ventilate the space and wear gloves and goggles.
The Pro Applicator and matching the gun
Match the gun to the foam before the job starts. Thermospray runs through a Tytan Professional applicator gun, and Tytan states that it isn’t compatible with every Tytan gun.
The Pro Applicator is Tytan’s heavy-duty gun for daily professional use. It’s built of metal, with a solid-piece metal tip that resists scrapes, a Teflon-coated basket that cleans up easily and a smooth pressure valve that fine-tunes bead size without pulling your gloves off. A plastic tip gouged on block or a sill throws the bead off, and a solid metal tip holds up to that kind of use. Leave a can threaded on between jobs so the foam stays sealed inside, and run Tytan foam gun cleaner through the gun when you change foams or put it away for the season.
Window and Door Extreme for cold-weather openings
Window and Door Extreme is Tytan’s straw foam for windows and doors in residential and commercial construction. The straw dispenses straight from the can, so there’s no gun to match or clean, and it’s designed for application temperatures as low as 23°. Store the cans in a heated cab or shop overnight so they come out warm. For late-season window and door work in cold country, that points to Extreme, and Thermospray waits for warm days or heated interiors because it needs 41°F air and a can at 59°F.
Subfloor foam adhesive
Tytan’s subfloor foam adhesive goes between the joist and the subfloor to stop squeaks and seal air-leakage points. Subfloor Pro comes out as a foam and immediately turns into a gel, and Tytan also makes Subfloor High Yield Pro. Run a bead down each joist before the sheet goes down, then fasten the sheet on your usual schedule.
Other Tytan lines
Foam Bond 60 is the foam adhesive Tytan promotes to contractors to speed up EIFS work. Coat & Seal is an elastic silicone MS coating for gutters, chimneys, skylights, vent outlets and roof leaks. It goes on without primer, works in wet conditions and comes in a 5 kg size. Window & Door PRO and Fire Block 113 PRO are insulating gun foam sealants, Fill All is a gun foam sealant, Gasket is a gun foam, and TYTAN UP! is Tytan’s whole-home air-sealing system for passing blower door tests in new construction. A 39-inch long barrel extends a gun’s reach.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many cans of Tytan Thermospray does a job take?
Each can yields about 21 board feet, so a 12-can case covers about 252 square feet at one inch. At an R-value of 4 to 5 per inch, two inches of foam comes to about R-8 to R-10. Decide what R-value you need first, then multiply the square footage by the number of inches it takes and divide by 21 to get the can count.
Do I need a foam gun for Tytan foam?
It depends on the can. Window and Door Extreme is a straw foam that sprays straight from the can. Thermospray, Fill All, Gasket, Window & Door PRO and Fire Block 113 PRO are gun foams. If you run gun foam most days, the Pro Applicator’s solid metal tip is built to hold up to daily use.
Which Tytan window and door foam should I use?
Window and Door Extreme is the straw foam, and it’s rated for application temperatures as low as 23°, so it fits cold-season installs and crews who’d rather not clean a gun. Window & Door PRO is the insulating gun foam sealant. It’s the better choice if you already run a Tytan gun and want to set the bead with the pressure valve.
What does Tytan Professional offer contractors besides foam?
Tytan runs specialist training courses for contractors that cover both theory and hands-on skills, and it lists upcoming sessions under the TYTAN Academy name. It also offers technical support for working through a specific problem on the job. Use that support before you try a product on an unusual surface or in a new application.
