Regal Aluminum Railing and Stair Components Regal

Regal railing gives homeowners aluminum posts and rails with pickets or tempered glass for a deck and its stairs. You can choose pickets for fewer glass surfaces to clean or glass for a clearer view through the railing. The infill choice also determines how far apart your posts can go.

Regal ideas Inc. manufactures Regal aluminum railing. Aluminum railing was the company’s original product line. Its aluminum railing uses a baked-on UV powder-coat finish.

Choose the infill before placing posts

Regal’s standard 42-inch railing takes straight pickets, wide pickets or tempered glass. Glass suits a deck built around the view, with panels to wash as part of the upkeep.

Post spacing is the deciding detail. Regal’s maximum tested spans are 8 feet with pickets and 6 feet with glass, so switching to glass can add a post in the middle of a run. Choose the infill first. Runs beyond those limits need an inline post.

Assembly and stair connections

Regal’s railing components assemble without welding, gluing or painting parts, and the posts arrive with pre-welded rail brackets. The work is in getting the layout and attachments right. End, line and corner posts serve different points along the run, while angle brackets and stair components handle changes in direction.

Fasteners are sold separately by the box. Mark the corners, stair openings and attachment locations on your drawing so each connection is accounted for. Post attachments need sound supporting material; work out those connections and local fastening requirements before installation.

Regal’s angled inline stair posts support an over-the-top stair railing. Plan the deck and stair railing together so the transition is settled before fastening anything down. Measure the stair opening separately.

For the steps themselves, Regal QuickStep provides a complete stair system with stringers, treads and connector kits.

For a railing built with wood or composite materials, Regal Wood In-Fill lets you mix square, round, decorative and tempered-glass infill; existing posts, rails and connections need to be sound before the infill is changed.

Upkeep and coverage

Clean the aluminum railing every three months with mild, non-abrasive soap, water and a soft sponge, then rinse away the soap. Remove sap, seeds and insects promptly because sun and heat make them harder to clean off. Inspect fasteners annually and tighten them as needed.

Regal’s residential warranty provides 20 years of prorated structural coverage and 10 years of prorated paint-finish coverage, subject to its conditions. Coverage applies to the original purchaser, with remedies limited to replacement materials under the warranty terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Regal railing used for?

Regal railing is an aluminum railing system for decks, with components for stair runs and angled connections. You can use straight pickets, wide pickets or tempered glass in the standard 42-inch railing. Settle that choice before laying out your posts: the maximum tested span is 8 feet with pickets and 6 feet with glass.

How do you install Regal railing?

Regal railing uses pre-welded post brackets and a picket-to-rail locking system, so assembly doesn’t require welding, gluing or painting parts. When securing the top and bottom rails to a post, install screws on only one side of the rails as directed in the installation instructions. Plan those connections before assembly, since fasteners are sold separately by the box.
