OrePac Doors, Moulding and Millwork OrePac

OrePac doors and trim are for contractors and homeowners finishing door openings and carrying a style through the house. Prehung options save assembly work with the frame, hinges, weatherstripping and threshold already together, while ready-to-paint profiles cut preparation before finishing.

OrePac Building Products is a building-products distributor and value-added manufacturer whose offerings include doors, moulding and millwork. It started as Oregon Pacific Building Products, Inc. in 1977. The company is part of Specialty Building Products.

Paint and stain choices

You can plan for paint or stain across the exterior doors and trim. OrePac exterior doors offer customizable paint and stain options. Its ready-to-paint profiles suit painted trim work, while Builders Choice stain-ready profiles arrive sanded smooth and unfinished so you can choose the color and finish.

For painted interior rooms, Builders Choice traditional primed stile-and-rail doors have defined panel details and shadow lines. Steves decorative-panel flush and molded doors can also be painted. Choose the panel shape you’ll want repeated down the hallway.

Builders Choice doors come in fir, knotty alder, mahogany, cherry and red oak. On a stained job, the wood’s grain and natural color remain part of the result, and different woods can take the same stain differently. Choose the wood first. Compare finish samples on the actual door wood and trim together in the room’s light.

Door fit and installation

OrePac’s door offerings include Builders Choice, Therma-Tru and Rogue Valley. Its customization options let you select the slab and components together, and prehung options take frame and component assembly off the job. Settle the opening measurements, wall thickness, swing and finished floor height before choosing the unit.

Interior doors can be configured for swinging, bypass, bifold, barn-door or pocket-door applications. Settle the operating style before framing. A pocket door needs space inside the wall, while a barn door needs clear wall space beside the opening.

French-door choices include clear, privacy and decorative glass. Privacy glass is the starting point when you want light through an opening with less direct visibility. Choose the glass for the sightline through that doorway.

Trim preparation and exposure

Ready-to-paint profiles reduce preparation on the trim itself. Once you’ve installed the pieces, joints and fastener holes still need attention because they show under the finish. Fit the pieces, fill the holes and prepare the joints before the final coat.

For exterior siding and trim, OrePac offers ACRE by Modern Mill, a wood alternative with wood-like workability and resistance to moisture, rot and insects for work exposed to moisture.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of doors does OrePac offer?

OrePac offers Therma-Tru, Rogue Valley and Builders Choice collections, with options for interior and exterior openings. For a painted interior, Builders Choice traditional primed stile-and-rail doors give you defined panel details and shadow lines. For a stained door, choose the wood first because its grain and natural color will show through the finish.

Can you get OrePac doors prehung?

OrePac offers prehung options assembled with the frame, hinges, weatherstripping and threshold. That saves you assembly work, but the frame still needs to be installed square and plumb so the door swings freely and latches without forcing it.

Can you get OrePac doors already finished?

OrePac offers factory-applied finishes, along with customizable paint and stain options for exterior doors. A factory finish takes the main finishing work off the job. Protect the finished surface while you’re installing the unit, especially when fitting hardware and moving tools through the opening.

What is ACRE from OrePac used for?

ACRE by Modern Mill is a wood alternative offered through OrePac for siding and trim. It combines wood-like workability with resistance to moisture, rot and insects. If you’re choosing exterior trim for a spot exposed to moisture, that resistance is a practical reason to consider it.
