Adhesives for cabinet work
Adhesives are a distinct part of the FastCap range: 2P-10 is a two-part, triple-distilled cyanoacrylate, or CA, glue. Before a glue-up, dry-fit the pieces, decide how you’ll hold them and clear a place to set the assembly. Get the mating faces aligned before adhesive enters the job.
Adhesive consistency deserves attention before bottle size. Thin adhesive can travel beyond the joint; thicker adhesive tends to stay closer to where you put it. FastCap lists Medium and Thick options, along with Rubber Tough Thick and Rubber Tough Jel. The two Rubber Tough options each have listed sizes of 2.25 ounces and 10 ounces.
Cover caps and the finished surface
Fastcaps are self-adhesive cover caps. On visible cabinet work, the cover becomes part of the finished surface, so its appearance matters. Color is only part of a wood match. On rift-cut work, Fastcaps leave a grain-cut mismatch even when the color is close. Judge grain and color separately against the actual cabinet face.
