Tyvek Tape for wrap seams
Tyvek wraps combine air and water resistance with breathability to help walls dry. The seam tape carries that air-and-water sealing work across the joints. Use Tyvek Tape wherever Tyvek seams require sealing; its permanent acrylic adhesive is engineered for that surface.
Get the laps right before taping. Arrange the layers so water running down the wall passes onto the face of the layer below. Then tape the seams, tears and holes after wrapping, while the wall is still accessible before siding.
Tape width matters with the wrap you’re using. DuPont specifies 3-inch Tyvek Tape with DrainWrap, StuccoWrap and CommercialWrap D.
Separate flashing for opening details
DuPont’s wall products extend beyond housewrap: its self-adhered flashing range includes Flashing Tape, StraightFlash, VersaFlange, FlexWrap EZ and FlexWrap. That’s a separate job on the material list. Use seam tape for the wrap joints and self-adhered flashing for the opening details, following the installation detail for the selected product.
